Jude Roberts is an artist and tutor in drawing and printmaking. By drawing and documenting water sites through inland Australia she has investigated groundwater and ephemeral river systems on the Great Artesian Basin.
Further research into the geography, hydrology and geology of the Basin has lead to collaborations with scientists, communities and artists. Fusing this shared knowledge with a haptic arts process has strengthened her understanding of the land and water and imbues her work with a deep sense of history and place.

For 35 years the Kedumba Drawing Award has been one of the pre-eminent awards for drawing in Australia. The addition of the $20,000 prize money will ensure that the Award continues to grow and build on its success for many years to come.
