25 Days…

This drawing is a reflection on the twenty five days (mid Sep - Mid Oct) I spent in hospital last year. 

My work discusses resilience and vulnerability carried by my own life experiences: 2 open heart surgeries, a six metre fall and a continuing punch-on with cancer. 

At the core of my practice is an interest in figurative representation and the human condition. I use both traditional and experimental drawing processes to make work that describe experiences (physical and emotional) through the use of tension and movement. Ultimately, I see my art-making as both symptom and remedy. 

Drawing gives you nowhere to hide, but everywhere to run.
