Drawing is a very strong element of my art practice, it is the foundation of all my work. Apart from being an exploration of my subject, I like to experiment with mark making to create my image. I generally draw with charcoal as it is such a versatile medium with a great range of sensitivity for creating a variety of marks. I often compliment this with pastel, not so much in a painterly method, but for its colour to assist a linear and textural execution.
