Artist Statement

Drawing gives you nowhere to hide, but everywhere to run. My drawing practice is concerned with challenging and dissecting my facilities; experimentation, and play. My work discusses resilience and vulnerability and is carried by my own life experiences: 2 open heart surgeries; 6m fall; and a punch-on with cancer. I see my art-making as both a symptom and a remedy.

I have had many solo and group exhibition and been a finalist in many prizes including the Dobell Drawing Prize finalist 2023, Doug Moran Portrait Prize (Finalist 2012; semi- finalist 2018); Brett Whiteley Travelling Art Scholarship 2006: 2002, Lloyd Rees Memorial Youth Art Award Distinction 2000. I have been awarded residencies in Australia and Internationally.
