Drawing is the foundation of my practice and the place where ideas first take shape. It is always where I begin, and it continues throughout the making of a painting. Indian miniatures are my constant reference point, their intricate lines, decorative details, and strong narratives inspire how I work. I sketch freely to let forms emerge, and as I paint, I keep drawing on the surface, layering marks over colour. This dialogue between line and paint creates rhythm, depth, and movement. Figures shift into gestures and dissolve into abstraction, yet the narrative thread remains. Decorative elements enrich the work, adding intimacy and detail. For me, drawing is not just a starting point but the living thread that carries story and imagination through my paintings.
