To me, drawing has always been a preliminary practice, a tool to figure things out, a very immediate and explorative part of thinking. Never seeming to be pinned down to a particular ‘something’, never pre-planned and often, being realised without expectation. This artwork came from an amalgamation of moments. From photographs of transit zones, to the raw burnt nature of charcoal and the up-cycled masonite board. The materials, each with their own story, are combined, representing the ambiguous and ever surprising nature of the world we find ourselves in. Each vessel, like a train ride, with its own experience, giving connection and purpose.
