I have always been inspired by James Gleeson, the renowned Australian surrealist artist. His uncanny biomorphic forms evoke what has been termed "inscape," where the artist's psyche transforms into an intricate interior landscape.

In my work, I explore the relationship between Gleeson’s art and the Gleason grading system, which assesses prostate cancer with scores from 2 to 10, where higher scores indicate greater risk and poorer outcomes. In 2024 I was diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer, specifically a Gleason 9, drawing a connection between Gleeson’s paintings and the medical framework of Gleason, highlighting the intersection of art and personal experience.
