Artist Statement

Through the act of drawing there is a beautiful immediacy of creating that works within the framework of perception, inspiration and the ephemeral nature of the passing moment. Drawing allows for an immediacy of expression that acts as the grounding for, and elaboration of the important information in creating a work. In this sense time is also the medium as drawing gives the impermanent a certain permanence through the somewhat transient medium of charcoal and paper. This work is an attempt towards the expression of that fleeting and impactful moment.
