'Satelites (to you)' emerged during my residency in Paris, where days were spent walking the city, and my nights (often until early morning)immersed in making. It archives my time alone - the place, the ground, the studio. The surface is carved with an angle grinder into linen, then scratched and sanded back, revealing traces of removed jute, acrylic binder residues, and burn marks. The shape of the work mirrors the length and motion of my arm; its curve reflects the act of cutting directly from the roll on the floor of the studio. Preserved in a float mount frame, the work is tactile yet impossible to hold - holding the memory of materiality, process, and place.
