Drawing is central to how I create my work. Each work is made up of drawing many, many tiny lines to create a larger composition. I draw each line in the glass with a diamond scribe, which not only creates lines on the glass, but those lines also cast a shadow on the surface behind the glass. In effect, there is drawing on three surfaces in each work. The work that has been submitted to the Kedumba Drawing Award takes full advantage of the drawings on the three surfaces to act as an illustration about how our behaviour casts shadows and affects others around us. Our awareness of these behaviour shadows is up to the individual, which is what the broader theme of the "Seeing" series is exploring.
