Drawing to document life is the continuum throughout my art practice. It is for me the most immediate and lightest medium in terms of an eco-footprint, to capture or explore the subject at hand. If what I am trying to capture is resolved with a drawing then that is enough. Many of my works are drawings and drawing is the fundament of any other medium I engage in.

I love to draw energetically and freely. This drawing however is controlled and tight, to capture the image of grief as one stark form - the axis of a father’s coffin with his six sons around him, each embodying individual qualities but coming together as one. It’s drawn directly on board to allow further mark making and layering through the Mokulito print making process, if I felt it was needed. In this case however the drawing, (for me at least!), was enough.
