This work explores the fragile and shifting nature of memory. There is a distinct visual language to my recollections: over the course of a decade, I may remember only a handful of moments, isolated and suspended in time, like ink blots scattered across a page. Through drawing, I seek to give form to these elusive sensations that often resist language.
This work began as a series of experiments in mark-making using ink on xuan paper. I explored processes of layering, disruption, and resistance, allowing the surface to become an active participant in the work. Central to my practice is the role of intuition, the subconscious, and unpredictability. I begin without a fixed image or outcome, allowing each work to evolve through a process of response and discovery.
