Once a month, a group of artist friends meet to draw outdoors, often on Dangar Island in the Hawkesbury River. Over several months, I made a series of studies of the wharf posts, wharves, shadows and their reflections in the water. I was interested in the shapes they created and used these studies to make this collaged drawing. Mark making is an essential part of my practice, and I often return to drawings as references for my paintings.
