Jocelyn Maughan
Jocelyn was encouraged to draw “the world” at an early age by parents who believed that learning to draw was learning to see. This was expanded by a Diploma in Fine Arts which emphasised skills of drawing in the 1950’s.
Jocelyn works in a wide range of mediums all commencing with a very active sketchbook. Holder of many prizes and awards she still practices and teaches “drawing something every day”.
Was the inaugural Head of the Art School at Meadowbank TAFE. Hundreds of art students she taught, many of whom are now eminent teaches, have been influenced by her dedication to drawing.
