Pamela Hourani
Pamela turned to painting following a career as a concert pianist in Europe and Australia. She has been working in the Blue Mountains for a number of years, exhibiting both locally and in Sydney.
Her work is in private collections in Japan, England and Germany. In 2011 she will be featured in the New York publication of International Contemporary Artists. For her, drawing is like chamber music – pure and devoid of ego. It must be brave and unpredictable and lead her to a place where she no longer exists – it makes its own life. Drawing is the foundation of all Pamela’s work.
Although figurative, her work finds its logic on an abstract level, where the figure almost doesn’t matter anymore, but remains the stimulus for the search of something beyond the artist.
